- This beautifully illustrated children's board book recounts the story of a lovable little brown bear, Hazel, born in the spring as she explores nature and everything else. When she sees the seasons changing, Hazel becomes confused. Mommy bear is reassuring that the changing seasons are a wonderful part of nature. The easily understandable poetic-style of the writing combined with the relatable illustrations, makes Hazel’s First Winter a book to read over and over again, for quiet time, and as a great bedtime ritual to end the day. Part of the Poems for Little Creatures from the Very Big Wood Series. Recommended for ages 0-6.
